FDA Recalls Wawa Milk Over Possible Plastic Contamination

THURSDAY, April 2, 2026 (HealthDay News) — Milk sold at convenience stores in four states is being recalled amid concerns about possible plastic contamination.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) said the recall affects 16-ounce plastic bottles of Wawa milk sold in Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

The issue was discovered after "foreign plastic material" was found on the production line, Eating Well reported.

The recall includes several types of Wawa milk:

  • Wawa Reduced Fat Milk 2% (UPC: 0072619101438)

  • Wawa Cookies & Cream Milk (UPC: 0072619015158)

  • Wawa Chocolate Low-fat Milk (UPC: 00726191014908)

  • Wawa Double Dutch Chocolate Milk (UPC: 007261910)

The recall has been classified as Class II as of March 18.

That means drinking the milk could cause temporary or medically reversible health problems, according to the FDA.

Customers should not drink the recalled milk and throw it out immediately.

Anyone who has already consumed the milk and has concerns should contact a health care provider.
