Researchers Identify Adolescent Pathways of Problematic Drinking During Adolescence

Heavy drinking during adolescence is known to be a major risk factor for developing an alcohol use disorder later in adulthood. New research has used artificial intelligence modeling to find that personality traits - such as extroversion or introversion - can also play a role in creating distinct pathways towards problematic drinking during adolescence. These results will be shared at the 48th annual scientific meeting of the Research Society on Alcohol (RSA) in New Orleans, Louisiana.
