Genetic Variants Can Simultaneously Increase BMI and Lower Cholesterol Risk, UTHealth Houston Researchers Find

Individuals with a genetic profile that puts them at risk of obesity may not necessarily be at risk of having high cholesterol, UTHealth Houston researchers discovered. The study, published in Genome Medicine, found that some genes can result in an inverse relationship between body mass index (BMI) and lipids.
