Francesco Boato, PhD, has always been drawn to science. "I always wanted to be either an inventor or a scientist," Dr. Boato says. "Even when I was four or five, I remember accidentally cutting my finger and immediately putting a drop of blood between two pieces of glass to inspect it under a microscope."
