Can Mini Organs Help Predict Breast Tumors' Response to Therapy?

In a study in Cell Reports Medicine, UCSF researchers found that organoids were able to mimic a tumor's response to treatment. They demonstrated that organoid responses to a combination of therapies matched response predictions from biomarker and clinical trial data, and subtype-specific drug screening identified candidate breast cancer therapies for further investigation.
