FAU Study Finds Time of Day May Be Key in Speech Therapy for Youth

With childhood apraxia of speech (CAS), speech difficulties can persist into adolescence and young adulthood, often requiring intensive therapy. A new study finds when speech is practiced may matter as much as how it is practiced. A study of participants ages 12 to 21, found that those with typical speech performed slightly better after evening training, while those with CAS performed better after morning training. The findings could help make speech therapy more effective without adding treatment hours.
