hyperthyroidism include: - Beta-blocker medicines. Examples are
propranolol (such as Inderal), atenolol (Tenormin), and metoprolol
(Lopressor). These drugs control a fast heartbeat, tremors,
sweating, and nervousness. Your doctor may prescribe one of them
while you wait for antithyroid medicine or radioactive iodine treatment
to start working.
- Medicated eyedrops. You may use these if your eyes are
irritated.
- Corticosteroid medicines. These control any pain or
swelling in the thyroid gland.
